    OK, am I being fanboy…?

OK, am I being fanboy…? September 7th | Posted by Dr. Macenstein ….or does this Wriggley’s Slim Packs gum commercial I just saw on the VMA’s just 15 minutes ago… look more than a little like this iPod nano commercial? I don’t know, if Lugz could threaten Apple with legal action for ripping them off with their Eminem commercial, then I think Apple’s got a case against Wriggley’s.

Dan Lyons takes off the mask and throws down the gauntlet with Apple

    http://www.ryanblock.com/ 2008/ 09/ dan-lyons-tries-taking-on-apple-from-a-diffe…

I have no doubt in my mind that Steve truly is the cunning monopolist Dan Lyons says he is, but his debut article as Steven Levy’s successor at Newsweek turned out to be a drive-by foot-shooting of dubious arguments and logic. First, Dan sets up Vudu as an example of the little company trampled underfoot by Apple.

Netbooks returned to the top of the page this week, as Dell finally confirmed their first entrance to the budget ultraportable market.  The specs of the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 may not be all that surprising - given both the regular leaking pre-announcement and the fact that all of these machines are

    http://www.gizmodo.com.au/ 2008/ 09/ what_happened_to_optus_pre-paid_iphone_3g_o…

Before the iPhone launched back in July, Optus made a big deal about the fact that they were offering the phone to pre-paid customers as well as on contract. But now, just two short months later, it seems that Optus have quietly decided to stop selling the iPhone outright for pre-paid customers.

British Man Invented the iPod; Apple Says No Money For Him

    http://loot-ninja.com/ 2008/ 09/ 07/ british-man-invented-the-ipod-apple-says-no…

I came across this interesting story.  It turns out a British man in the late 70’s came up with the idea for the iPod and has the drawings and the patent applications to prove it. He could not afford to pursue the idea and it sort of fell out of his ways.

Apple credit UK man with initial iPod idea

    http://www.slashgear.com/ apple-credit-uk-man-with-initial-ipod-idea-0715463.php

We’re used to hearing claims from disappointed (and generally poor) people that they invented the iPod, but Apple have partially made one UK man’s day by crediting him as author of some of the original patents that outlined how today’s PMPs work.  Kane Kramer sketched out a rudimentary media player
